AEP Mountaineer Carbon Capture Pilot Project

• Project Description:

  This project serves as the first integrated demonstration that burns coal, cleans the flue gas, captures the CO2, compresses it, and sequesters the CO2 at more than 8,000 feet below ground.  Bowen worked with American Electric Power and technology provider Alstom Power to build this project beginning in June 2008.

  Bowen self- performed site preparation and grading, as well as the construction of drainage culverts, underground piping, concrete foundations, and exposed process piping.
