Alcoa Warrick FGD (Award Winning Project)

  • Project Description:

    Bowen constructed concrete foundations for the Alcoa Warrick FGD project as an Alliance contractor to Alcoa, Vectren and Fluor.  Total concrete placed exceeded 30,000 cubic yards.  The project was the recipient of an Indiana Ready Mix Association award and and ACI Indiana Award for Outstanding Achievement in Concrete.

    Site-Civil Scope of Work

    • Auger Cast Piles - 2,500 ea
    • Reinforcing Steel - 62,000 tons
    • Large Anchor Bolts - 2,000 ea
    • Excavation of Fly Ash - 50,000 cubic yards

    Foundations were constructed for the following structures:

    • Absorbers (4)
    • Recycle Pump Building
    • Electrical Building
    • Maintenance Building
    • Limestone Building
    • FGD Stack
