  • Project Description:

    The construction of this project allowed the City of Indianapolis to reduce storm event overflows to the White River from the Southport and Belmont wastewater treatment facilities.  One of the largest Indianapolis Department of Public Works projects awarded in several years, the project included the addition of 70 million gallons of storm/wastewater storage capacity at the two treatment plants.  It also included a pump station at the Southport Treatment Plant and construction of additional primary clarifiers at the Belmont Treatment Plant.  The project was completed 7 months ahead of schedule and now diverts nearly 2 billion gallons from local waterways every year.
