The Duke Energy Gibson FGD project required the placement of approximately 45,000 cubic yards of concrete, 4,000 tons of reinforcing steel, and 200 tons of embedded anchor bolts and support steel.

At peak production, Bowen Engineering installed formwork, installed rebar, and placed over 30,000 CY of concrete within a five-month period. The total duration of the actual placement of 30,000 CY of concrete was seven (7) weeks. The project team implemented collaborative planning with the owner and the use of creative construction methods throughout the project. This allowed Bowen to provide our client a total savings of 25% compared to competitive bid prices.
