Meadow Lake Wind Farm Phase I (Award Winning Project)

• Project Description:

  Bowen served as Balance of Plant Contractor for the 200 MW Meadow Lake Wind Farm project in White County, IN.  Construction began in April 2009 and was complete in October 2009. The project was completed with zero lost time injuries.

  The project team received two prestigious awards for its efforts: The Aon Build America Award and an Indiana ACI Outstanding Achievement in Concrete Award.

  • 121 Vestas V82 1.65 MW turbines commissioned
  • 345 kV switchyard
  • 34.5 kV/345 kV substation
  • 311,000 LF 35 kV underground cable
  • 29 miles: new access roads
  • 34 miles: existing road improvements
  • 53,300 cy concrete placed for turbine foundations
